Facebook Wants You To ‘Explore’ A New News Feed

Facebook is examining News Feed in the beta version of the app on Android phone. Some users have observed the same function being examined on iOS in early Jan.

In the recent beta upgrade, the current edition of the News Feed continues to be the "Home" tab and the new "Explore" tab is a mixture of images, video clips and articles that are designed to the user's passions, especially - from facebook pages they have not liked or followed. The tab is related to Instagram's Search and Explore tab.

For example, my explore tab is loaded with facebook pages related to those I've already liked, such as the entertainment news site, video clips well-liked by my buddies, an article well-known in my system and of course, memes. Above movie experiences, the feed also demonstrates how many of your buddies have viewed your clip.

The Explore tab seems to be a way for users to get with facebook pages they have not liked or followed yet, and so would not see on their News Feed. The tab is also arranged with Facebook's constant push for users to watch more movie. The Explore tab seems a lot more like Twitter. While as of now, it seems like the tab works as a source of suggestions for a user, going forward it might conjointly possibly be a place to surface less "personalized" content and address the filter bubble, a more and more common critique of Facebook's News Feed.

While Facebook operates a lot of experiments on users and tests different features all the time, the Explore tab has been identified both on iOS devices and the Android phone beta version, which signifies Facebook may be already seriously thinking about the function.
